Male nurse Nanic Aidasani accused of raping 64-year-old patient at Manhattanville Health Care Center in Riverdale

Police say the sexual assault happened at the Manhattanville Health Care Center on West 231st Street at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday. Nanic Aidasani, 42, allegedly raped the 64-year-old woman in her bed at the facility. (2/19/14)

THE BRONX - A male nurse is accused of raping a patient at a Riverdale nursing home.

Authorities say Nanic Aidasani, 42, of Yonkers, sexually assaulted a 64-year-old woman at the Manhattanville Health Care Center.

They say an employee discovered Aidasani on top of the woman Tuesday morning. According to published reports, the woman cannot speak because of a stroke.

Aidasani was taken into custody at the nursing home, questioned and then charged. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.

"Manhattanville Health Care Center contacted police and the Department of Health to report the alleged assault," Manhattanville Health Care Center said in a statement. "Our residents are our number one priority. We will continue to assist authorities with this ongoing investigation."
