THE BRONX - A man accused of stabbing a bus driver is now facing assault charges.

Bus driver Ron Dingnan was transporting passengers on the Westchester Bee-Line 20 bus Thursday afternoon when an incident involving a passenger transpired on Jerome Avenue.

Police say West Akpan, 33, stabbed the driver several times in the side and back.

The bus driver was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery.

Akpan is charged with felony assault.
