FORDHAM HEIGHTS - Police have a suspect in custody after a man was found dead with stab wounds inside a Fordham Heights apartment that caught fire this morning.

Firefighters responded to the fire on Webster Avenue at around 6 a.m. The victim, 56-year-old Gregory Evans, was found inside the building with stab wounds and burns to his body. He was pronounced dead at Saint Barnabus Hospital.

Police say they've taken a 48-year-old man into custody.
