Man hospitalized after getting struck by car

BRONXDALE - A pedestrian has been hospitalized after being hit by a car on Waring Avenue Monday afternoon.

Witnesses say the man was caught in the middle of a two-car accident. According to witnesses, the 44-year-old man was hit when one of the cars was forced up onto the sidewalk following the collision.

Those nearby say they've been trying to get a traffic light installed at the intersection of Waring and Olinville avenues, where the accident took place.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with leg injuries.
