He was safely brought down to street level with a cherry picker after negotiating with first responders.

THE BRONX - A man climbed to the top of a traffic light pole at the corner of the Grand Concourse and E. 166th Street and refused to come down Tuesday evening.

Police and fire crews negotiated with the man at the scene. Witnesses say he was brought safely to the ground with a cherry picker and into police custody.

There was no word on his identity or why he climbed the traffic light pole.
