Man remains in critical condition after fire kills wife

THE BRONX - A Bronx man continues to fight for his life tonight after a two-alarm fire at his Riverdale apartment yesterday killed his wife.

Marinus Dykshoorn, 91, and his 87-year-old wife, Cornelia, lived in the apartment building for more than 40 years and were not only well-known locally, but also across the country because of Dykshoorn's talents as a clairvoyant.

Dykshoorn, who has a book written about him called "My Passport says Clairvoyant," spent years traveling to police departments to help solve criminal cases.

Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire, but say it doesn't appear to be suspicious.
