WEST BRONX - A man was seriously injured early this morning after he fell down an elevator shaft in a West Bronx apartment building. 

The accident happened just after 4 a.m. at the apartment on Webster Avenue.

The victim was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital in serious condition. According to the city's Department of Housing Preservation and Development, no recent violations or serious complaints occurred at the building.
