JEROME PARK - A 24-year-old man was shot in the torso early Sunday morning near Lehman College in Jerome Park.

The incident occurred at 2766 University Ave. at around 5 a.m.

Police say they arrested a suspected shooter and recovered a gun from the scene. They did not release the 29-year-old suspect’s identity or a motive for the shooting.

Emergency crews took the victim to St. Banabas Hospital. His condition is not yet known.
