THE BRONX - Police say a man was killed last night after being hit by a sanitation truck.

Officials say 43-year-old Ronald Simpson was trying to cross East 163rd Street and 3rd Avenue at around 10:30 p.m.

Authorities originally thought Simpson was struck by two vehicles, but after reviewing surveillance video, sources say that only the truck was involved.

The driver pulled over and called police, who say he's not facing any charges.
