Manhole explosion leads to P.S. 107 evacuation

THE BRONX - Hundreds of Bronx students were evacuated from their school today after a manhole exploded on Seward Avenue.

P.S. 107 students were in class when kids and teachers heard a loud boom. Fire officials say that while no students were hurt, the evacuation was ordered as a precaution.

Officials say the manhole explosion was caused by a fire in the electrical cables underground. The students were transferred to P.S. 100 and P.S. 93.

P.S. 107 will reopen tomorrow.
