Manhunt over for Bronx escapee

THE BRONX - A manhunt is over in New Jersey for a Bronx man who escaped from police custody last night.

Police say 27-year-old Jose Rodriguez was found in Connecticut inside a hotel next to the Mohegan Sun Casino.

According to police, Rodriguez was pulled over in Fort Lee, New Jersey on an outstanding warrant. They say Rodriguez had been cuffed and shackled when he jumped into the front seat of a police car and sped off.

Officials say Rodriguez is a suspect in a Bronx shooting that took place earlier this month.
