THE BRONX - A woman was killed this morning when she was struck by vehicle at Hunts Point and Lafayette avenues.

According to police, 66-year-old Maria Montalvo was walking in the crosswalk when a Nissan pickup truck traveling eastbound on Hunts Point Avenue made a left turn and struck her. She was about to celebrate her 48th wedding anniversary.

Police say the driver was a 55-year-old male who remained at the scene. They say he was issued two summonses for failure to yield and failure to exercise due care.
