THE BRONX - Even for those not in evacuation zones, there are some important things to keep in mind during hurricanes.

According to the governor's office, the MTA will institute a system-wide shutdown when trains and buses begin their final runs starting at approximately noon tomorrow. It is also going to watch the winds to see if any bridges need to be closed.

Parking rules and meter rules have been suspended for Saturday and Monday, but the mayor is suggesting to keep cars in safe places away from trees and any flooding areas.

The city is also urging residents with concerns to call 311, not 911, that number is for emergencies only.

All outdoor events have been canceled for this weekend, and the mayor is advising everyone to stay indoors and be safe.
