THE BRONX - Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the city "dodged a bullet" as the northeast was pounded with heavy snow Friday night.

Bloomberg said that the boroughs are in great shape, despite nearly a foot of snow piling up in some areas. He promised to have all streets cleared of snow by the end of the day Saturday.

The mayor also offered resources and help to other communities hit harder by the storm.

Everyone is still be urged to use extreme caution. Temperatures are expected to drop, creating potentially icy and dangerous conditions on some roads and sidewalks.
