NEW YORK - Mayor Michael Bloomberg and hundreds of other mayors used the Super Bowl as a platform for gun control.

The Mayors Against Illegal Guns Coalition, which was founded by Bloomberg, aired an ad calling for tougher gun legislation, including background checks.

Children narrated the 30-second commercial with the song "America the Beautiful" playing in the background. It aired during the third quarter of the game in the Washington, D.C. area.
