THE BRONX - Mayor Bill de Blasio is urging parents to sign their children up for pre-K as the deadline is just days away.

More than 53,000 pre-K seats will be available citywide this fall, with the vast majority being in community-based organizations.

The city secured $300 million in state funding for the next five years to make universal pre-K expansion a reality.

The deadline to apply for a seat at a public school is Wednesday. After that deadline, information for enrolling at a community-based organization will be released.
