THE BRONX - The Food and Drug Administration says ingredients used in children's cold medicines recalled last week were contaminated with bacteria.

Many Bronx mothers said they had already taken action against the threat, clearing medicine cabinets of recalled products.

The Food and Drug Administration is encouraging parents to use generic brands of the medicines they need.
