THE BRONX - A group of Melrose neighbors banded together to rescue a timid feline who got stuck in a tree.

The Morris Avenue residents stood below the tree with blankets in hand and ready to catch the cat, who had been there for a day.

One person climbed up the tree to encourage the cat to jump down.

It was then caught in a blanket and ran away uninjured.
