THE BRONX - Several people gathered at the Rudy Macina Peace Memorial Plaza in honor of the country's fallen service members. 

A wreath was placed by the monument as an American flag was raised during the ceremony. 

Those in attendance also listened to remarks from elected dignitaries. 

They say their goal is to inspire children with the meaning and cost of freedom.
