THE BRONX - Two Bronx men say they were mistakenly incarcerated for eating candy that resembled cocaine.

Cesar Rodriguez and Jose Pena were approached by police officers last week after the officers spotted a Hello Kitty plastic bag holding a white substance. The men's attorney says the bag was actually a package of coco de crema coconut candy that is popular among the Hispanic community, but officers didn't test it before throwing them in jail.

Rodriguez and Pena spent five days behind bars. They have filed a notice of claim against the city worth $2 million.

Both men, who are self-employed plumbers, say their records are clean.
