FLUSHING, QUEENS - Mets fans are back at Citi Field today for the home opener as the defending National League champs take on the Phillies.

The Mets opened the season on the road against the 2015 World Series champion Royals. Jacob deGrom is scheduled to start for the Mets, though his wife is due with their first baby.

Mets fans are pumped for the season, showing their support with team signs and glasses. Many are hopeful that the Mets will take it all the way this year.

This is the second season in a row the Mets hosted the Phillies on their home opener. That resulted in a win and fans are hoping for a repeat performance.
