Monroe hosts annual baseball tournament

THE BRONX - Top teams from across the city are stepping up to the plate for the annual Monroe Baseball Tournament.

Host Monroe High School is out of the running after facing defending Brooklyn champ Grand Street Campus in the quarterfinals Wednesday.

A pitching battle left the teams tied up at one in the ninth, but Grand Street managed to rack up 10 hits and nine runs to score a 10-2 win.
