Montefiore Medical Center offers free shuttle service for patients

Montefiore Medical Center has begun utilizing shuttle buses to bring Bronx patients to the group's various facilities at no cost.

THE BRONX - Montefiore Medical Center is helping patients get to and from appointments by providing free transportation.
 
Montefiore Medical Center has begun utilizing shuttle buses to bring Bronx patients to the group's various facilities at no cost.
 
The service will be provided to not only Bronx residents, but also those in Washington Heights.
 
The program will use five buses that seat anywhere from 11 to 25 people each.
 
Montefiore officials say they will check back in on the program soon to see how efficiently it is working in the community.
