More than 20 cars stuck in Pelham Parkway flood

THE BRONX - Rain has moved out of the region today, leaving behind pools of flooding in many areas after a storm walloped The Bronx.

More than 20 cars parked along Pelham Parkway's north service road were stuck this morning in 3 feet of water that reached past the wheels. Residents say garbage and leaves were clogging the road, preventing them from driving out.

"This isn't something that just happened," says motorist Dave Rodriguez. "This has always happened here. They don't address it."

Rain and heavy winds also knocked down trees and toppled garbage cans. Commuters dealt with slow public transportation and waded through puddles this morning.
