More than a dozen residents are without a home this morning after a fire tore through a building in Melrose.Fire officials say the fire began

THE BRONX - More than a dozen residents are without a home this morning after a fire tore through a building in Melrose.

Fire officials say the fire began shortly after 2 a.m. in the back of a hair salon on 158th Street. It quickly spread to the neighboring building at 792 E. 158th St.

The Red Cross is helping families find a place to stay.
