Morris Innovate Senior Center members get 15 minutes of fame in new short film 'Bronxerella'

THE BRONX - Bronx seniors were part of a new short film in which an iconic fairytale character moves to the borough.

"Bronxerella" follows Cinderella's move to the Bronx and was created by filmmaker Ruben Cruz. The movie was made with the Morris Innovative Senior Center.

Cruz says the idea for the film came after he spoke with the seniors and they told him their personal stories.

The seniors will attend the showing of the movie at the International Puerto Rican Film Festival this fall in the city.
