THE BRONX - Many residents in Morrisania say they are fuming over idling school buses on Eagle Avenue.

According to neighbors, the buses sit outside the New Life School with their engines running every morning, creating congestion and traffic delays.

Under the Environmental Conservation Law, it's illegal to idle for more than five minutes, but in school zones it's illegal after only one minute.

Jose Rivera says he's waited up to 45 minutes just to get out of his driveway because it was blocked by one of the buses. He complained he's never seen any of them receive a ticket.

News 12 The Bronx did not get a response from the Department of Education for comment.
