THE BRONX - A mother and daughter have been arrested in The Bronx after police say the girl pepper sprayed two classmates at Pablo Neruda High School.

The mother, Tracey Morales, says she gave her daughter the pepper spray on Wednesday to defend herself against bullies.

The two girls sprayed with the chemical substance were sent to the hospital. The girl arrested in the incident, who is pregnant, says she was thrown to the ground by police responding to the incident and also had to be hospitalized.
