THE BRONX - A motorcyclist was killed during a late night collision on Pelham Parkway.

According to police, the 39-year-old man was heading southbound at Matthews Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday when he tried to pass a car in front of him. They say he struck the vehicle's side view mirror and lost control.

Officers found the victim in the bus lane with trauma to his body. He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car remained on the scene.
