THE BRONX - The Mott Haven public houses are getting $250,000 to address emergency, safety and security needs of public housing residents.

The money will go to install the latest technology for security entrance cameras, sophisticated locking devices and new intercom systems. The New York City Housing Authority chose the Mott Haven houses due to the rise in crime in the area since 2009.

The funds are part of a five-year plan to improve safety and security of all public housing residents.
