MOTT HAVEN - Some residents in a Mott Haven apartment building say a flood in the building has caused thousands of dollars in damage.

Residents thought the water that flooded their homes came from a burst pipe, but NYCHA officials say the cause was a toilet that overflowed on the sixteenth floor. The water leaked as far down as the thirteenth floor.

Maintenance workers cleaned up most of the flood Monday, but residents say they didn't do enough and had to call several numbers to get help.
