Thirteen boys and one girl from the South Bronx Physical Fitness Program at Mott Haven campus competed in the National High School Physical Fitness Championship in California. The student athletes competed against 18 other schools and took home first place.

THE BRONX - Student athletes in Mott Haven have to make room on their trophy shelf after the team placed first in a national physical fitness competition.

Thirteen boys and one girl from the South Bronx Physical Fitness Program at Mott Haven campus competed in the National High School Physical Fitness Championship in California.

The student athletes competed against 18 other schools and took home first place.

The competition consists of five events including situps and pullups.

The student athletes plan on competing again next year.
