THE BRONX - Patience has run out for a group of neighbors who say they've been waiting too long for a speed bump on their busy street.

According to Mount Eden residents, the city's Department of Transportation was supposed to install the bump at Jesup Avenue and West 172nd Street nearly two years ago.

Robert Carrington showed News 12 a 2012 letter from the DOT approving installation of the safety measure, but he says crews never came and cars continue to speed.

Neighbors add that two people were struck and injured over the summer, and they don’t want to risk another person getting hurt.

News 12 reached out to the DOT for comment, but has not yet heard back.
