THE BRONX - Residents in Mount Hope woke up this morning to a disturbing discovery: nearly a dozen cars in their area had been vandalized overnight. Police say 10 cars along East 177th Street and nearby Morris Avenue had the windows smashed and side-view mirrors knocked off during the night. Next to the cars, a brick and a large rock were found.A witness tells News 12 The Bronx that she heard a group of people making loud noises at around 3 a.m., and then heard a loud crashing sound. Police are still investigating the vandalism. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
