MTA project causes train service disruptions

THE BRONX - Massive train disruptions in the New York City subway system are causing delays for Bronx commuters this weekend.Nearly all the trains are experiencing changes because of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's $11.2 million rebuilding project. The "1" line will be out of service until 5 a.m. on Monday. The trains are being replaced with the M3 bus or shuttle buses, which are picking up passengers at Broadway between 242nd and 215th streets. The "6" line is also out of service at certain stations, including Pelham Bay Park, Parkchester and St. Lawrence Street until 10 p.m. tomorrow.The MTA advises all commuters to allow extra travel time to get to their destinations this weekend.
