THE BRONX - A new MTA bus service extension will allow more Bronx residents to travel to city beaches with ease.

The extension service to Orchard Beach was rolled out today and is expected to ease the traffic along the already congested Orchard Beach and City Island routes.

The Bx12 bus will have more routes between Sedgwick Avenue and Pelham Bay, starting as early as 7 a.m. and ending at 8 p.m.

The service extension will only run on weekends.
