THE BRONX - The MTA has set up several park-and-ride spots where more than 100,000 displaced Metro-North commuters can board a free shuttle bus.

The lots are in response to major service disruptions on the Metro-North New Haven Line, which started last Wednesday with a serious power failure caused by a feeder cable issue.

The Orchard Beach parking lot is one of two Bronx locations connecting riders to the No. 6 subway line at Pelham Parkway. The other is located at the East 153rd Street garage at Yankee Stadium.

There's still no word on when trains will begin running normally, but officials say it could be another week.

State Sen. Chuck Schumer is calling for a federal and state investigation into the matter.
