THE BRONX - The MTA is running a normal schedule today after testing a new pilot program yesterday.

Under the program, some service reductions will be made on so-called minor holidays, including Columbus Day, the day after Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve. Officials say the changes are due to historically low ridership on those days.

The MTA says that only seven lines will be affected, but that could grow over time.
