THE BRONX - For 26 years, Kru Williams has been practicing the combat sport of Muay Thai, and more than five years ago, he began teaching the style to others in the Bronx.

Williams says the popularity of Muay Thai has skyrocketed since the UFC began gaining more followers. He opened the Lions Roar Muay Thai gym in the Bronx to teach the style to others and to help young people who may need guidance.

The Lion's Roar Bronx Muay Thai Academy is located in Grand Concourse and Williams says he is looking forward to opening a second gym in Fordham.
