Neighborhood search for rapist on hold

THE BRONX - ? A Westchester Square neighborhood watch program developed to help police is now on hold.

Organizers started the watch program to help catch the man police say raped a 79-year-old woman. Organizer Cynthia Figueroa says she passed out flyers to recruit more volunteers. She says she also needs funding to purchase items needed for the patrol.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the neighborhood watch can attend a meeting on Aug. 11 at Sanctuary Community Church on Saint Peter?s Avenue.
