MORRIS HEIGHTS - Morris Heights residents say they're angered that a local 9-year-old fell from the roof of his apartment complex, insisting it would never have happened had their building had tighter security.

According to authorities, 17-year-old Casmine Aska has been charged with attempted murder in the second degree after shoving Freddy Martin off a roof on Nelson Avenue Friday. Martin was rushed to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition with severe body trauma.

Tenants say the roof should have been properly locked, although the building's superintendent says no one ever complained about the roof's door before.
