EAST TREMONT - Four men are in custody after a woman was shot in East Tremont Monday.

One witness said a group of men was arguing near Lafontaine Avenue and East 178th Street. Other witnesses said they then heard what sounded like cherry bomb fireworks, and they saw the victim leaning against a fence as a man yelled for others to call the police.

The 25-year-old victim's uncle said that she was unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The woman, who is expected to be OK, was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital after she was shot in the arm.
