THE BRONX - Residents and community leaders celebrated the ribbon-cutting of a new supportive housing apartment building that is officially filled to capacity.

The Creston Avenue Residence is a new building with 66 affordable apartment units for high-need Medicaid clients, low-income families and disabled veterans.

The residence is the first supplemental affordable housing development, all paid for by state Medicaid Redesign Team funding.

One exciting feature of the Creston Avenue Residence is a transit screen that gives a real-time display of all transportation options in the community.

The building also features solar paneling, a green garden, laundry facilities and supportive services for tenants, with case workers right in the lobby.
