THE BRONX - Merchants opened up their storefronts once again on South Riverdale Avenue bringing a revitalization to the area.

The area suffered during the recession when many businesses were forced to close. The newly created South Riverdale Merchants Association celebrated the grand opening of many new stores with a ?street pass? event and fair.

Merchants say they hope the area will become a shopping destination in the neighborhood.
