New Bx41 select bus service coming to Webster Avenue

The extended service will replace the current Bx41

The extended service will replace the current Bx41 limited service by June 30.

THE BRONX - The Webster Avenue bus route is getting select bus service to speed things up for Bronx commuters.

The new service will run off the Bx41 line, which extends from the hub at East 149th Street to East Gun Hill Road in Williamsbridge. It will replace the current Bx41 limited service, but the Bx41 local will continue to run 24 hours a day.

Officials say there are about 22,000 daily riders on the current line, and the new rapid service will help ease congestion and improve travel time with fewer stops. Commuters will also be able to pay their fares before stepping on board, and will have three doors to use when getting on and off buses.

The service is expected to be rolling by June 30.
