BRONX - A new career center in the Bronx is giving hope to those who have spent time behind bars.

The Osborne Association held an official ribbon cutting ceremony Friday to unveil its Green Career Center. The center hosts a six-week program that helps train men and women with criminal histories for green jobs, such as working on solar powered trash compactors.

Kevin Timmons, a graduate of the center, says the connections to employment that he has received are a tremendous help. He says it's great to have people in his corner.

The Osborne Association was able to open the center thanks to $2 million in federal stimulus funding.
