New District 16 Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson details plans for office
THE BRONX - Newly elected Councilwoman Vanessa Gibson spoke to News 12 The Bronx today about her plans for office.
Gibson, one of the three new City Council members representing the Bronx, represents more than 150,000 residents living in Claremont, Concourse, Claremont Village, Concourse Village, Morrisania, Highbridge and Morris Heights.
Topping her to-do list is combatting unemployment. She wants to make sure that any project in the district has a benefit and promotes sustainable jobs.

The Brooklyn native served as a state assemblywoman for the Bronx the past four years. She came to the Bronx during her senior year at SUNY Albany when she got an internship with former Bronx Deputy Borough President Aurelia Greene.
Councilwoman Gibson's inauguration is set for Jan. 25 at HOSTOS Community College.
