CO-OP CITY - Community leaders in Co-op City are excited about the newest house of worship to enter their neighborhood.

A mosque opened at the Dreiser Loop Community Center on Friday, giving Muslims in the complex a place to gather and pray. Worshipers in Co-op City say they previously had to travel outside their community to reach the nearest mosque.

The space is a temporary location. Mosque officials say they're working on getting a bigger space to accommodate a growing number of new members.
