THE BRONX - The New York Archdiocese is offering parochial school tours in hopes of boosting admissions in the Bronx.

Saint Thomas Aquinas School is among more than 160 elementary schools across nine regions taking part in the first-ever "Touring Tuesday."

The initiative allows prospective students to get a first-hand look at school grounds from parent ambassadors and student volunteers. They also have the opportunity to meet with principals and faculty members.

Catholic school enrollment was down 12 percent nationwide this year, according to the National Catholic Education Association.

The next "Touring Tuesday" event is scheduled for Nov. 19.
