THE BRONX - The New York City of Probation released its first-ever poetry magazine with words written by probation clients from the South Bronx Neighborhood Opportunity Network.

To celebrate the publication, 20 poets read their pieces for community members and fellow clients.

One poet said he never thought he'd get into poetry, but says he is better off since he started writing.

"It helped me become a full, more complete person," said Napoleon Felipe, who is a probation client and free verse poet. “Some people find religion, some people find certain things, and I found this. My own piece of mind.”

The South Bronx office's 10-year anniversary is on Thursday.
